Mission Statement

To provide a vehicle for cooperation among organizations concerned with language translation and interpreting (T&I), in order to foster the following mutual objectives:

strengthening the T&I community across government, education, and industry sectors,
promoting awareness and image of careers in T&I, and
informing buyers on how to obtain appropriate T&I services.

TISAC Summit Meeting

Thank you for making the 2011 TISAC summit meeting in Boston a success! There is an active discussion in TISAC concerning translator certification on which Alan Melby will make a forthcoming report. This report will be available on tisac.org in the coming months.

Website Update

The TISAC website at www.tisac.org is under active development. It is now possible to view the latest newsletters and information about member organizations online. Details about current and future TISAC projects, and information about the upcoming October, 2011 TISAC meeting in Boston will be made available in the near future.

Changes to TISAC

At the 2010 annual summit on October 26th in Denver, the Summit acronym was changed from TSAC to TISAC in order to explicitly recognize interpreters as well as translators and and two new organizations (ASTM-F43 and ISO/TC37, both of them being standards bodies) were welcomed into the Summit.
